Chapter 357

Raiden stood to the side, observing how the female massage therapist he had brought in gradually morphed into

a scene of envy and competition among palace concubines. He couldn't help but twitch the corner of his lips and

murmur, “Well, this ... *

He couldn’t shake off the feeling that something was off.

Milly wasn't totally lost in all the sentimentality; she still had her wits about her. She knew that to keep things

smooth, she had to get Raiden and Nimbus on board in this indulging time, especially for Nimbus.

She figured she had to switch up Nimbus’ focus so he wouldn't start nitpicking and potentially mess things up

later. It just wasn’t going to be worth the hassle.

“Hey Nimbus, Raiden, get over here,” Milly called out, sounding bored. “The night's dragging. Got any ideas for

something entertaining?”

Nimbus scratched his head briefly, then offered, “What about starget practice? Do you want to give it a go,

Master?”

Milly quickly dismissed the idea. “Nah, let's not. What if the noise freaks Melanie and the rest out?”

She finally got them to stash their guns away. She was adamant about not letting them get their hands on them

again!

Raiden had a bright idea. “Why not have fun and let these good-looking guys and girls show us smoves?”

But Milly wasn’t having any of it. “Nope, watching guys and girls dance together just doesn’t sit right with me!”

Watching others dance was one thing, but having people watch while also thinking thoughts?

That was a no-go. One idea after the other, nothing seemed to fit.

Raiden scratched his head, looking a bit puzzled. “Boss, we're only here for a bit. This place isn’t exactly built to

entertain. We're still getting things set up.”

Milly was fidgeting with the sofa, thinking hard, then thought, “How about we spice things up with a dice game?

Would you like to join in?”

Raiden and Nimbus looked at each other. “Is that all there is to it?”

Milly's face hardened briefly as she took it personally after putting her idea out there!

But she was sure these guys weren't dissing her.

still, their looks hit a nerve, especially with all the girls around!

If she let this slide, what wouldn't she let slide? That was a line she wasn’t willing to cross.

With a confident smirk, Milly got her gface on and said, “No, it’s not really that simple. No game's fun

without a little something on the line. Let's make it interesting the loser takes a shot. Let's find out who's the last

one standing!”

Raiden’s eyes lit up when he heard that. “Now you're talking! I'm all for games with a bit of risk.”

He remembered how he used to dominate at gambling when he was with the Ghost Sect, crushing it at dice,

poker, and blackjack. But after he gambled away a big chunk of territory to Leon, Nimbus strictly banned his

gambling habits.

At first, he thought he could sneak around Nimbus’s back and keep playing.

But that plan fell through when Nimbus caught him in the act, playing blackjack with Leon and losing a stash of

weapons.

Nimbus packed his things and left the Sect, ignoring every attempt at an apology. Raiden, genuinely remorseful

and recognising the severity of his actions, committed to making things right. It took stime, but eventually,

Nimbus reconsidered after seeing Raiden’s genuine efforts to mend the situation.

The stipulation required him to halt all involvement in deceptive gambling practices. To secure his older brother

Nimbus’ forgiveness, he was compelled to sign various declarations, affidavits, and letters of self-reflection.

He was overjoyed to learn that he could engage in dice games again!

Yet, his excitement had to be concealed. There was a risk in letting Nimbus catch on to any unusual behaviour.

Raiden barely held back a grin, scrunched his forehead, and shot Nimbus a look like he was trying hard to make

a point. He said, “Look, Nimbus, this is coming straight from the sect leader-it’s not like | wanna be doing this.

We've gotta fall in line and do as we're told, no questions asked.”

Nimbus just raised an eyebrow.

Raiden kept trying to convey his point, “Con, think about it. The sect leader's just got back. We can’t start

making waves and get her thinking we're not on board with the plan. That'd bum her out. Right now, we need to

show her we're all about the sect and totally behind her.”

Nimbus was silent.

Like anyone would fall for that spiel!

He wanted in on the game, but now he used the sect leader as a way out.

Milly caught the two whisperings and threw them a worried look, hoping they hadn't picked up on anything

amiss. She tapped the table with her gun, catching their attention, and said, “Okay, you two, got something to

whisper that can’t be shared with the sect leader? Decide quick. Are we playing or what?”

“We're in. We wouldn't dream of turning down the sect leader's challenge! Right, Nimbus?”

Raiden spun to face Nimbus, his eyes practically screaming, “Let’s do this!” Oh boy, here we go!”

Funny, when he’s not in his usual loud, fierce mode, he’s actually adorable.

Who would've guessed that the adorable kid in front of them, who seems to need to ask permission to play

games, is actually the notorious Mr. Raiden from the scary Ghost Sect!

Nimbus finally let out a sigh of relief,

nodded, and said, “Alright, let's play together then.”

Raiden couldn’t contain his excitement and practically shouted, “Woohoo! Wait up, Sect Leader, I'm gonna grab

the dice quickly!”

In an instant, he was gone.

Milly watched him dash off and couldn't help but raise an eyebrow.

Why's he so hyped? Does he have ssecret dice skills? But that needs to be added up.

Everyone knows you're supposed to let the boss win when you play games with them, right? They don’t do that

in Maldonia, so Raiden’s clueless about it.

She was sure of her dice-throwing game. After all, she wasn’t new to this; in her past life, she was basically the

queen of

gambling. To nail her role perfectly back then, the director had even gotten a real-deal gambling pro to train her

for six months!

While she wouldn't claim her skills are flawless, they are up there. She was easily among the top three dice-

shakers in the country!

That's why even when she was a bit tipsy, she still felt bold enough to bet drinks. She was confident she

wouldn't be the one losing!

Raiden was back in a flash, holding the dice out to Milly.

Grabbing them, Milly gave the dice a light shake, enjoying the feel of them jittering

against her fingertips.

Pretty good, she thought to herself. Even after transmigrating to a new body, she still had the feeling.

With a sly grin, Milly passed the dice to Nimbus next to her. “Your turn,” she said, narrowing her eyes in

anticipation.
