Chapter 384 Yvette was teasing him about Josiah's earlier aloofness towards her. Yvette had noticed everything.
Josiah felt embarrassed and shook his head awkwardly. "How could that be?" "Then just eat," Yvette handed him a spoon, "Stop overthinking things." Yvette added a side dish to his bowl, "Just like Howard, I'll always be your family." Josiah was choked up, his throat tight with emotion. After a long moment, he nodded. "Yeah." "Here you go," Yvette said.
Josiah swallowed a spoonful of porridge; it was warm, but he still couldn't taste it. He once had a real family. But once again, his family didn't want him.
Josiah thought, 'In my past life, what did I do to deserve this? From the moment I was born and abandoned by my parents, and now is my lover. Life is vast, like an ocean or mountains and rivers, but it's all by myself.' ***** Following the address Sienna sent him, Conner arrived at the Sunshine Neighborhood. He thought, 'Does Sienna live here? Isn't she the adopted daughter of the Flynn family? Or Mr. Flynn's wife? 'Why does she live in such a community? Not that there's anything wrong with Sunshine Neighborhood, but it just doesn't match her status.' Full of questions, Conner drove up to the apartment building where Sienna was already waiting for him at the entrance.
"Just park here," Sienna said with a smile as she cover. "This is an old neighborhood. Not much red tape here. As long as you park properly and don't block anyone, it's fine." "Okay," Conner said as he got out of the car, unable to hide his curiosity. "Sienna, is this where you live?" "Yes," Sienna said with a knowing smile, understanding his confusion, "Josiah and I divorced a while ago." Conner was shocked. "When did that happen?" He thought, 'Don't you both make the news for your official announcement not long ago?' "It's a long story," Sienna laughed, "If you're interested, I'll tell you about it later. Oh, and don't mention it to Joyce, she doesn't know anything about it." Sienna paused for a moment for emphasis. "And don't mention her dad either; Joyce doesn't know she has one." Conner was shocked. His mood instantly turned heavy. He thought, 'Sienna, what kind of life have you lived all these years?' "Let's go," Sienna smiled casually, "Knowing that you'll come, Joyce didn't nap well today." The two of them entered the apartment building one after the other.
"This is it." Sienna stopped and took out the key to unlock the door.
Conner held his breath, feeling a bit nervous. After the door opened, he heard the little footsteps and a child's innocent voice.

"Joyce," Sienna bent down and touched Joyce's freshly tied bun. "Your uncle is here, say hi to him." She stepped aside as she spoke.
Conner stood there, swallowing nervously. One looked down while the other looked up, Conner and Joyce met eyes. "Hi, Joyce, I'm Conner." Joyce tilted her little head, noticing he looked a bit like Sienna. She reached out her tiny arms. "Conner, givea hug." "Okay." Conner was surprised, grinned widely, and bent down to pick Joyce up.
"Joyce is even prettier than in the photos. I brought you a gift, do you want to see it?" Conner asked.
"Yes! Thank you, Conner!" Hugging Conner's neck, she gave him a big kiss on the cheek.
"Thank you, Joyce," Conner smiled with his eyes turning into crescents, wondering how there could be such an adorable child in the world.
"Let's go, tto open presents," Conner said.
Conner got Joyce a custom doll, about the ssize as her, complete with a suitcase filled with clothes, shoes, bags, and jewelry for the doll.
"Mom. It's as big as me," Joyce said.
Joyce was thrilled, "How pretty!" she exclaimed excitedly, pulling Conner along, "Conner, let's change the doll's clothes and style its hair." "Sure." Conner nodded with a grin, very patient.
It was the first meeting between Joyce and Conner, but they bonded well. Even Sienna had to take a back seat. Sienna chuckled, "Joyce, have fun with Conner while I go to help Tara in the kitchen." "Humph!" Joyce replied.
"Okay!" Conner replied.
Joyce and Conner responded in unison, making Sienna smile and shake her head as she turned to go into the kitchen.
That night, Joyce stuck to Conner like glue. She wanted him to join her for dinner, watch cartoons, and read stories.
Sienna understood this was due to the absence of a father. Naturally, Joyce felt drawn to male figures who entered her life.
Previously, this was also a part of Joyce's feelings toward Josiah, beyond just their family ties. It wasn't until Joyce fell asleep that Conner could finally relax.

It's getting late. Letwalk you to the door." "No need, I'm not a kid. I can walk myself," Conner said.
"Alright, be careful on your way," Sienna replied.
"Got it. Head back in," Conner said.
***** The next day, as soon as Sienna arrived at the set, Derek cto find her. "Sienna, Mr. Carter wants to see you. Follow me." "Okay." Sienna put down her bag and immediately followed Derek to meet Charles.
"Sienna, have a seat," Charles pointed to a chair. "You don't have many scenes left in this show. What are your plans afterward?"
Sienna paused and shook her head. "I haven't thought about it." She was doing this role just for fun and to return a favor to the directors. She hadn't considered the future. Charles seemed to understand. "I have a web series coming up. Would you be interested?" "Me?" Sienna was surprised. "But I don't have much experience." "Experience is something you build over time," Charles said.
Charles shook his head, not agreeing. "Every actor has their own traits. Srely on skill, others on talent or charisma. You've got a lot of charisma."
Sienna understood that he meant well and valued her a lot. Even though the work wasn't finished Charles Had already arranged a new one for her. She hesitated for a moment and then nodded. "Alright, I'll go with Mr. Carter's plans." Charles and Derek exchanged smiles. "That's great. With what you said, I'm relieved. In a couple of days, there's a gathering. I'd like you to meet the production team." "Alright, thank you, Mr. Carter and Mr. Pittman," Sienna said.
***** Josiah's health was gradually improving, and on the day he was discharged, Howard cto pick him up. "Have you thought it over? When do you plan to go back to work?" "Let's talk about it later," Josiah lazily leaned back in his seat. "I'm still feeling a bit weak." Howard was silent. He understood Josiah wasn't weak but didn't want to go back. "Okay," Howard nodded. "Then take more tto rest." "Hmm..." Josiah replied vaguely. He couldn't bring himself to tell Howard that he didn't plan to back to the Flynn Group.
After dropping him off at Silver Beach, Howard left. Josiah stood at the gate, Wash Watching Howard leave. It wasn't until the car was far away that he turned and went inside. While closing the gate, he saw several large moving trucks driving along the road, stopping at the house next door.
Josiah raised an eyebrow and thought, 'Are they my new neighbors?'
