Chapter 386 "Humph." Josiah scoffed coldly, his eyes filled with disdain. "You really think I care?" "Why wouldn't you care?" Andy didn't understand. "Aren't you trying to stripof everything I have? To take away what belongs to me?" Andy stretched out his arms in agitation. "You could easily take it all without even trying." Josiah frowned, reminding him, "By then, you'd be kicked out and left with nothing!" "I don't care!" Andy's eyes sparkled with intensity. "As long as the Evans family has a future, I couldn't care less!" "You're crazy!" Josiah bit his lip, doubting whether there's something off in this guy's head.
"Edgar!" Andy was getting anxious. "I know, with your skills, you'll never have to worry about food. You're still young, and with time, you'll surely build your own business empire..." He continued, "But why waste so much time? You have such a powerful backing; you could save years of struggle and achieve your bigger ambitions, right?" "Enough!" Josiah frowned, cutting him off.
"Am I wrong?" Andy stared, taken aback.
Josiah admitted it; everything Andy said was true. But he couldn't just brush it off. "You need to let it go! When I escaped from the Evans family back then, I never planned on going back!" There was no way he could forgive a father who treated him worse than an animal. For those long years, in Andy's eyes, he hadn't been more than a dog.
"Edgar!" Andy called after him, but this time, he couldn't stop Josiah.
Josiah hurried out, bursting through the screen and out of the private room. Zach followed silently; even with the screen between them, he had listened to every word.
Whatever decision Josiah made, he would always support him, but it was clear that something was off today. "Get the car for me," Josiah ordered, waving at Zach. "I'll go to the restroom." "Ok," Zach replied, stepping out first.
After a turn, Josiah entered the restroom. He turned on the tap and splashed cold water on his face.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtThat crazy guy, Andy, was really getting to Josiah. Leaning over the sink, Josiah closed his eyes, taking deep breaths to calm down. Slowly, he started to regain his composure.
When he opened his eyes and turned to leave, he nearly collided with someone stepping out of the adjacent restroom. It was Sienna. They locked eyes, and she seemed just as surprised.
In just half an hour, they had run into each other twice. Under his gaze, Sienna acted casual, walking over to wash her hands, grabbing a paper towel and tossing it into the trashcan.
He stood there, still watching her. Sienna pretended not to notice him.
"Sienna," he said, stepping directly into her path.
Sienna looked up sharply, and he caught her gaze, his lips twisting into a bitter smile. "Are you that eager? We just broke up, and you're already seeing someone else?" "Seeing someone else?" Sienna blinked, taken aback. Then it dawned on her. This was classic Josiah-he always jumped to conclusions whenever a guy was near her.
She couldn't help but chuckle. "You said it yourself-we broke up. So if I happen to see someone new the very next day, why would that matter to you?" She sidestepped him and made to leave.
"Con, Sienna." He called out from behind her, his gaze fixed on her retreating figure.
His voice thick with emotion. "I... I feel terrible." At his words, she froze, her lashes fluttering. She bit her lip, knowing exactly the ache he was feeling. "At first, it hurts; I get it. But with time, it'll pass... trust me, I've been there. No one understands better than I do." Without looking back, she walked away.
"Will it really get better with time?" Josiah murmured, watching her back. "But you didn't tellhow long it'll take." Josiah thought, 'A month? A year? Or maybe four years? Does it take her four years to forget me?' ***** After stepping out of Cozyroom, Joyce's little tummy was round with satisfaction. "Did you eat enough, Joy?" Conner asked, holding her close.
"I'm stuffed!" she replied cheerfully.
Sienna couldn't help but laugh. "Are you really worried about her? She ate way more than I did!" "Meat is good!" Conner said, showering his niece with unconditional love. "Eating well keeps you healthy!" This way, during the surgery, it'll be a bit less painful.
"Here," Conner said, concerned about her digestion. Once they were in the car, he pulled out a pack of hawthorn candy. "Joy, eat a couple of these." To avoid indigestion and end up being bad for her health.
"Conner is the best!" Joy beamed, cupping the snacks in her hands. "I love you the most!" Sienna chuckled, shaking her head. He really spoiled the kid, but he was also quite thoughtful.
When they arrived at the Sunshine Neighborhood, there was a shiny new BMW Mini parked downstairs. Tara raised an eyebrow in curiosity. "Whose new car is this?" "Sienna," Conner said, giving Sienna a playful nudge. "I bought it. What do you think?" "You bought a new car?" Sienna noticed the brand-new vehicle still didn't have plates.
"Yep!" He nodded excitedly. "Just picked it up today. What do you think?" "It's nice," Sienna replied, glancing at him. "But isn't it a bit small for you?" Usually, cars like that are better suited for women. And besides, she couldn't help but wonder why it was parked right outside her building.
"I thought so too..." Conner lifted his arm and tossed something toward her. "Here, Sienna." "What is it?" Sienna instinctively raised her hands to catch it, then looked at the car key in her palm.
She pointed at the car, "Is this for that car?" "Yep," he nodded, a grin on his face. "I got it for you." "This..." Sienna was completely taken aback, momentarily speechless.

"Don't say you don't want it!" Conner pleaded, his eyes" "Why wouldn't you? Mine is yours! Why are you being modest? It's not a burden on us." Sienna couldn't help but laugh at his logic. While he was right, it felt a bit odd for him to be the one saying it.
Thinking of the other three members of the Fischer family, Sienna couldn't help but marvel Corner was really a gemprising above the dirt without getting tarnished. With the key warm in her palm, she relented. "Alright, I'll accept it." "This is the way it should be." Conner smiled warmly, "Sienna, from now on, I'll take care of you and make sure you don't have to suffer anymore." Sienna's eyes felt a bit misty as she nodded, "Yeah, I'll hold you to that." Many years later, when Sienna looked back on that moment, she still felt moved by Conner's sincere promise.

Instead of heading straight back to the Silver Beach, Josiah decided to meet up with Thomas and Yosef for drinks. As he kept downing shot after shot, Thomas and Yosef exchanged worried glances. "Shouldn't we say something?" "What can we say?" "Right. When it comes to a breakup, it takes more than advice to fix that." All they could do was hang tight and support their friend through the rough patch.
When it was tto head out, Yosef took responsibility for getting Josiah back to the beach house.
Unexpectedly, the living room was lit up. Yosef guessed it was probably the cleaning lady they hired After ringing the doorbell, he hoisted Josiah inside the entrance.
"You're really heavy!" he grunted.
"Is that you back?" Yvette called out, pushing a wheelchair in their direction.
