Catlin’s voice trembled. “Let's not talk about this right now, okay? Stefi, she’s in so much pain. You didn’t see her
today; she cout of the emergency room vomiting uncontrollably, she couldn’t even drink a sip of water.”
Stephanie was momentarily stunned,
“Let the doctors treat her first. No matter how much | owe you, I'll pay you back in the future, okay? Please?”
Every word was laced with Catlin’s cautious pleading.
Even at this moment, Olivia's treatment was still the most important thing in Catlin’s mind.
Stephanie said, “Mrs. Hart, have you forgotten? You once toldthat my life was something you gave me. So
how could | possibly owe you anything?”
That was what Catlin had told her before; how firm her stance had been back then. For Olivia's sake, she had
used both coercion and persuasion against Stephanie.
“And now that you've realized that cutting off my finances, making sure no company would hire me, still wasn’t
enough to trap me, and you've resorted to begging?” The moment Stephanie's words fell, the phone call

All that was left was Catlin’s increasingly rapid breathing. At the end of the hospital corridor, Catlin felt her blood
run cold the second she heard Stephanie’s response.
On the other end of the line, Stephanie chuckled when she noticed Catlin’s silence. “Compensate me? If Olivia
really recovers, won't that just be the moment when you all cafteragain?”
She knew these people too well. After all, it wouldn't be the first tin the past two years that they had come
for her over Olivia.
Olivia was truly skilled; no matter how far she was, even in another country, these people would still cause
trouble for Stephanie because of her.
Olivia always said, “It has nothing to do with Stefi; it’s my fault.” But no one ever cared the real reason behind
those words.
All that mattered was that every tOlivia said that, these people would assthat Stephanie couldn't
tolerate her because of how the Hart family treated her and then, they’d cfor her.
Catlin grew frantic. “No, that won't happen! | really want to apologize to you this time!”
“Oh? For Olivia's sake, everything you do is genuine, isn’t it?” Stephanie replied coldly.
Catlin was stunned. Hearing Stephanie say that, she panicked even more.
At that moment, she even forgot about all of Stephanie's leading questions earlier.
The only thing she remembered was that Stephanie still wouldn't agree.
Stephanie wouldn't call Allison. She wouldn't allow Macro to treat Olivia.
“Then tell me? What do you want?” Catlin’s voice cracked as her composure unraveled.
Stephanie's tone remained indifferent. “She’ll die her death. I'll live my life. What could | possibly do to her?”
With that, she hung up. Once again, Catlin had witnessed her mercilessness.
Stephanie was exhausted. Just then, there was a knock at the door.

Sebastian nodded. “I have to step out for a bit, and | should be back in tfor dinner. Be good and get some
rest.
Hearing that he'd be back for dinner, Stephanie nodded obediently. The frustration from Catlin’s frantic outburst
on the phone instantly dissipated.
Forget it. Those people don’t matter. Why should | waste my energy being angry over them? With that thought,
she felt a little better.
After giving her a few more reminders, Sebastian left.
At the hospital, it took nearly five minutes for Catlin to recover from her anger.
Just as she was about to return to the hospital room, she ran into Chris.
