Chapter 162 Jasper's sharp cold gaze fell on Edith.

Like a knife piercing Edith's chest, she felt a sudden chill and hung her head fearfully out of reflex. Samantha was frantic. Afraid that Jasper might continue to torture her because he didn't believe her, she continued to tremble in Tyson's hands. Her teeth were chattering as she earnestly tried to reduce her penalty by saying, "I'm not lying, Mr. Hughes. What I said was the truth. Willow even slappedearlier today because I deceived her. Do you see how swollen my face is? Willow did this." Her trembling finger was pointing to her face to prove that her words were true.

Now that Samantha had cclean, Tyson no longer saw that need to hold onto her. He would only be dirtying his hands that way.

He tossed her aside and patted his hands disdainfully to rid himself of the non-existent germs.

Samantha fell to the ground and shuddered. A flow of liquid trickled onto the floor.

She had wet herself in fright.

Edith was panicking on the inside.

Samantha was such an idiot! How could she just reveal everything? Jasper would never let them off now.

There was a glint in Jasper's dark eyes. He looked at Samantha to see her oily cheeks swollen and her eyes puffy. She really looked like a toad.

To think the cause was Willow.

Willow must have resented them for deceiving her after all.

She must have wanted to reunite with him as soon as possible.

These women had caused him and Willow to lose each other for five years.

The best five years of their youth! They would never be forgiven.

Jasper directed his icy gaze to Edith. "What other excuse do you have?" Five years ago, he had Edith search for Willow and bring her to him. However, not only had Edith lied about Willow being dead, but she had even colluded with Samantha to host a funeral for Willow's family's dead sow so they could deceive him! How dare she?! Edith stiffened as she knelt in front of Jasper to explain. Her heart was trembling in fear but she didn't show it. Instead, she looked aggrieved.

"Mr. Hughes, Willow was born in a village. She reeks of poverty. Her house is so run-down and she didn't even graduate college. She doesn't cclose to you be it education or family background. She's not worthy of you, and that's why I took it upon myself to say that she was dead so you'd give up on her. You have many excellent women around you and they're all daughters of nobles. Any one of them is better than Willow." Edith was usually a capable and strong woman. She had a pressuring aura with a swaggering pride to match it. However, when faced with Jasper's indifference, no matter how much confidence, she mustered and how she tried to calm herself down, her heart would still tremble in Jasper's intimidating presence. Even her voice was shaking.

She wanted to say that she was only thinking of Jasper and did it for his good.

She hoped that Jasper would spare her because of this.

Jasper smirked and snorted a laugh. His tone was laced with saccasm and anger as he said, "You did it The ash@said, content is on novelenglish.net! for my sake? Who do you think you are? Are you even worthy?" She was merely a secretary his grandfather forced onto him.

Aside from carrying out duties that her job demanded of her, she had no right to interfere with his personal matters. The Hughes family didn't need him to be in an alliance marriage to grow.

With Jasper's abilities, he could easily increase Hughes Corporation's profits.

Even his grandparents couldn't interfere with his marriage so where did this secretary get the confidence to do so? She didn't know her place!
