Every word Elysia spoke cut deep into Jim's heart, stabbing him with pain. He stared into her eyes, shedding all

pretense, his voice low and menacing. “What exactly do you know?” he demanded, his tone sharp.

Elysia remained unfazed, her expression calm and unreadable. “Didn’t | just tell you?” she replied coolly, her lips

curling into a faint smirk. “I know everything you've done. Maybe even more than you think.”

Jim's brows furrowed deeper, his eyes narrowing with a flicker of danger. “Aren’t you afraid Ill kill you?” He

hissed, his voice dropping to a whisper, teeth grinding audibly.

Elysia chuckled, her tone playful yet chilling. “Do you think I'm afraid?” She took a step closer, her smirk fading

into something sinister. “How many lives have you taken? Three? Five? And now you want to addto that

list?”

Before Jim could respond, Elysia continued, her voice steady and cold. “If you think killingwill be easy, think

again. There's someone you might remember-Ryan.

He's the son of the former butler. He has quite a history with you. You played a part in why I've been away all

these years.”

When Jim heard the nRyan, he didn’t react much at first. But when the mention of the two former butlers

cup, a flicker of surprise crossed his eyes.

‘Could it be that we didn’t wipe them all out back then?’ The thought sent a wave of panic through him. But

then, another idea struck him-maybe this was just one of Elysia’s tricks. ‘Was she trying to mess with my head?’

he thought.

He studied her face intently, searching for any sign of deception, but her expression gave nothing away. Elysia

tilted her head, her lips curving into a sly smile.

“Ryan’s been trying to killfor years to avenge. But he’s never succeeded. If he couldn't do it, what makes

you think you can?”

Jim's chest tightened at her words. ‘Is she really comparingto Kaelen? Am | that insignificant in her eyes?‘ he

thought.

Jim looked up to fire off a question. But before he could get a word out, she cut him off as if she’d read his mind.

“Ryan is definitely better than you. And not just by a little-by a lot.”

Jim's jaw clenched. “This is beyond humiliating. Being compared to a servant? Is she trying to provoke me?‘ he

thought.

But Elysia wasn’t done. “Here's the thing, Jim,” she said, her tone turning icy. “From this moment on, you'll be

watched. Every move you make, I'll know about it.”

She paused, a faint smile playing on her lips. “You're probably wondering why I'm warning you instead of just

taking you down. Well, I'm feeling generous. But if you step out of line, don’t expectto be so kind.”

With that, she straightened up, hands in her pockets, and met Jim's gaze head-on. “You should be grateful, Jim.

At least for now, you still get to enjoy the world outside.”

Jim stared at her, baffled by her cryptic words. Elysia didn’t bother explaining. She turned and walked away, her

figure disappearing into the distance. Jim stood frozen, the encounter feeling like a surreal dream.

He gripped the steering wheel, his mind racing. ‘If | just press the gas, she'd be gone,” he thought. But he can’t

do it.

Jim wasn’t sure how much of what Elysia had just said was true and how much was a bluff. ‘If it’s true, he

thought, ‘then if | step on the gas now and she doesn’t die, I'm the one who's screwed.

But if she does die, and it happens right outside our doorstep, how am | supposed to explain that to Edward and

the rest of the family?’ After weighing his options, Jim forced himself to push down the murderous impulse rising

in his chest.

Elysia, on the other hand, wasn’t the least bit worried about Jim making a move. If he were really that impulsive,

he wouldn't

After a night of reflection, Elysia had finally made up her mind to return to Sivro. But before she could go back,

there were loose ends to the ups and Jim was one of them.

Jim had blood on his hands. 11e was cunning, ruthless, and deceitful. Elysia wasn’t naive enough to believe that

murder was the only evil he’d committed.

Over the years, she had no idea how much he’d done, and everything was still under investigation. He'd better

The death of Evelyn had always struck Elysia as suspicious. Over the years, countless renowned doctors had

been consulted, yet none could pinpoint the cause of Evelyn's illness.

Her health had been carefully managed, so in theory, as long as it was under control, there shouldn't have been

any issues. ‘So why did she die in the end? She'd had chest pains before, but why did that one ttake her

life?”

These questions haunted Elysia, and a few key words kept resurfacing in her mind-fifteen years old, birthday.

Her memories drifted back to when she was fifteen, around September. She had been targeted by assassins, a

fact known only to her.

It happened right after she returned from studying in Morgania. While staying at a hotel, she was attacked and

stabbed in the abdomen. She managed to escape, fleeing through the streets and alleyways, her clothes soaked

in blood.

Clutching her wound, her face pale as a sheet, she had been certain she was going to die.

As her consciousness faded, she vaguely remembered a man in a black suit. She couldn't see his face, but she

remembered the faint scent of mint on him. When she woke up, she was in a hospital bed, her wound stitched

up.

Gritting her teeth against the pain, she tried to make her way to the nurse's station to ask about the man who

had saved her.

But before she could get there, she spotted the speople who had tried to kill her the night before. Without a

second thought, she fled.

She spent the next two months recovering in hiding, only returning to Silverstream after her wound had fully

healed. To avoid worrying her grandfathers, she never mentioned the incident to anyone.

As she recalled this, Elysia gently touched the scar on her abdomen. ‘I owe that man my life,” she thought. But to

this day, she had never been able to find him.

Her eyes grew distant, her expression calm. She had always believed that no one else knew about that incident,

but she was wrong. There was one person who might have known-her sister, Evelyn, whom she had never met.

‘On our fifteenth birthday, when Evelyn felt that pain in her chest, was it because she sensed | was in danger?’

Elysia wondered. ‘But how severe must that pain have been to take her life?’
