Chapter 253
Chapter 253:
From a scientific standpoint, cancer was an immensely complex disease. Its causes were multifaceted, involving
genetics, environment, and lifestyle factors. Many of the brightest minds had dedicated their lives to studying it
but had failed, as it stretched far beyond being just a disease—it was a genetic puzzle.
After Charlotte made her bold declaration, she braced herself for mockery or scorn from Khloe.
But Khloe’s reaction was not what Charlotte had expected. Instead, she gave a calm, knowing smile.
“Charlotte, your resolve is commendable. In fact, I've been preparing to tackle cancer for years.” Khloe’s eyes
gleamed with the sdetermined light.
“The primary objective of my lab is to find a cure for throat cancer and automate cancer prevention. I've
developed a program and medication that, when used, can evaluate an individual's cancer risk and warn
patients of potential cancer threats. This will allow us to address a major portion of cancer cases right from the
root.”
Charlotte's eyes went wide with disbelief. She stared at Khloe, momentarily speechless, before she found her

“You really have such a brilliant idea! This is incredible.” Her voice quivered slightly, clearly overwhelmed by
Khloe’s revelation.
“I always thought that overcoming cancer was an impossible dream. | never imagined you'd have such a
detailed plan.” Charlotte's eyes gleamed with excitement. “If this program and medication really work, it could
revolutionize cancer treatment.”
Filled with eagerness, Charlotte stepped closer to Khloe, her gaze locked onto hers. “Tellmore about your
ideas. How exactly do this program and medication work? What technology and resources will we need to make
it happen?”
“Charlotte, did you forget you haven't signed the contract yet? | can’t share this with you yet.” Khloe laughed at
Charlotte's eagerness.
However, Charlotte wasn’t embarrassed. Instead, she quickly responded, “Where's the contract? I'll sign it now.
I'll work for free if it means | can be a part of this project.” Khloe couldn’t help but smile at Charlotte's
enthusiasm. She was truly a passionate academic. Any other company would have jumped at the chance to
capitalize on her talents.

Khloe handed over the contract and confidentiality agreement, offering a top-tier salary.
As soon as the paperwork was done, Charlotte was eager to get started. “Khloe, what do | need to do to prepare
for the experiment? Just tell me.”
Khloe shook her head and pulled up a webpage. “We're not starting any work yet. Right now, we're entering a
competition.”
Charlotte followed Khloe’s finger to the screen and was stunned to see it was the registration page for the
National Biomedical Competition.
Charlotte knitted her brows in confusion and asked, “With all your skills, you don’t really need a competition to
show what you can do, do you? So why bother entering this contest?”
Khloe let out a quiet sigh, her face serious. “Charlotte, there's something you're not aware of. My lab’s been
running into smajor issues. The Dayton family is blocking us, making it really hard to attract the talent and
resources we need. Taking part in this competition will get our project noticed and bring in talented people who
can help. Plus, winning or even gaining recognition could help us break the Dayton family’s hold and open up
more chances for our lab to grow.”

we'll definitely shine in the competition and show them what we're made of.”
When Khloe saw that Charlotte wasn’t concerned with the reasons behind the Dayton family’s interference, she
couldn't help but feel even more pleased.
It felt like pure luck, and she couldn't help but thank Sloane for trying to trip her up during the honor student
exam. If it weren't for that, Khloe never would have showcased the AIDS drug to win first place, and Charlotte
wouldn't have ended up joining her.
