Chapter 280
Chapter 280:
Alan glanced at Henrik, but Khloe suddenly spoke up. “It's not just about Celeste. There's also the woman he
drugged. He must have other accomplices, maybe even involved in human trafficking.”
At her words, Hancock looked at her as if he had seen a ghost, more terrified than he had been under Alan's
relentless torment.
Henrik watched Hancock's pitiful condition, his expression as cold as ice. “Keep questioning him,” he ordered
Alan. “Find out if there are any other accomplices.”
Obeying Henrik’s command, Alan brought the dreaded branding iron closer to Hancock, his eyes gleaming with
malice. “Tell the truth about the woman and any human trafficking you're involved in. If you lie, you'll regret it.”
Hancock’s body trembled uncontrollably, his voice breaking with hopelessness. “I swear, | wouldn't lie! I'm just a
man driven by desire; | did it all by myself. How could | involve anyone else in such sins? There are no

His words cacross as pitiful, his face wearing a mask of seeming sincerity. But Khloe saw through his
deception without a second thought. “You're lying!” she snapped.
Hancock met Khloe’s gaze, terror flashing in his eyes, but he clung to his story, stubbornly denying any other
truth. “I'm not lying! There are no accomplices! | know my sins are unforgivable, but it was just me!”
Alan turned to Henrik, silently waiting for the next move. Henrik’s eyes narrowed, his gaze as cold and deadly as
a frozen lake, capable of chilling anyone to the core. With a slight nod, he signaled to Alan to proceed.
Alan acknowledged the signal and moved the branding iron closer to Hancock again. The tip glowed with a
menacing blue hue, radiating intense heat that seemed to warp the air around it. With a steady hand, he pressed
it firmly against Hancock's back.
“Ah!” Hancock's scream pierced the air, his body writhing in agony as the intense heat burned through his flesh,
leaving a charred, bloody hole. The air was thick with the nauseating scent of burning flesh.
Despite the excruciating pain, his lips remained sealed, stubbornly silent, refusing to speak. His face was a
mixture of agony and defiance, refusing to give in.

Seeing his resistance, Khloe rose to her feet, her eyes gleaming with an unreadable depth. Her voice was as cold
as ice when she spoke. “Lettake over the interrogation.”
Khloe’s words caused everyone to freeze in surprise. Alan’s brow furrowed in slight annoyance, his eyes flashing
with open disapproval. Henrik’s eyes glimmered with a spark of curiosity, his interest piqued as he regarded
Khloe.
“Alright, go ahead. Showwhat you've got.” Henrik actually agreed.
Alan's brows tightened further, his dissatisfaction growing palpable. Despite Hancock's lack of strength, Alan
couldn't shake the feeling that Khloe was being reckless. How could someone so delicate like her handle an
interrogation? She was bound to be more of a hindrance than a help.
But defying Henrik was out of the question. He shot Hancock a cold, contemptuous glance, withdrew the
branding iron from his side, and stepped back, his doubt written clearly in his eyes.

certain of his superiority.
A woman believing she could handle an interrogation? It was laughable! These people must be weak, or else why
would they allow a woman to take control at such a critical point?
Hancock's confidence grew. He was resolute in his decision to never reveal the mastermind. If he could just hold
on, he was certain rescue would csoon. He gritted his teeth, suppressing the pain, a smug smirk curling at
the corner of his lips.
Khloe saw through his false bravado, a mocking smile tugging at her lips.
