Chapter 586:
“Don’t you dare try to bully me! I've recorded everything. If you lay a finger on me, I'll call the police!” he said
fiercely.
Rebecca rolled her eyes with exaggerated indifference. “What an idiot.”
Sometimes, when people leave you speechless, all you can do is laugh.
Meanwhile, Melany was still feeling the sting of the slap and decided not to let this moment go to waste. She
leaned toward the young man, putting on a look of helplessness and humility. “Sir, please, you're better off
staying out of this mess, getting involved could drag you into trouble,” she pleaded gently. Melany noticed the
sympathy in his eyes, and a cunning glint flashed across her face.
Her voice broke with feigned emotion as she continued, “They have power on their side. There's no way we'll win
this argument.”

into tears any moment.
Sighing tically, Lindy caught on to Melany’s act and pulled out a handkerchief, dabbing her eyes as if in
pain.
“Oh, it’s my fault for being too old for this kind of treatment. All these years, and | end up bullied by someone
younger,” she murmured with a defeated shake of her head. She sniffed for effect and added, “My poor son,
pulled into a casino and leftto bear all this humiliation.”
Though Lindy desperately wanted to blAllison directly, she held back with Kellan present. Instead, she used
Rebecca's actions as an excuse to make snide comments that indirectly targeted Allison.
But Rebecca merely scoffed. “Really, Lindy? Playing the ‘respect your elders’ card again? You have no shame, do
you?”
Noticing that Rebecca’s temper was flaring, Ferdinand took a subtle step forward, positioning himself between
her and Lindy. “Lindy, are you implying that Ms. Clarke, a young woman, should've been the one to rescue your
son from a casino?” His words were laced with sarcasm. He arched a brow, letting his words linger. “If you
couldn't manage the situation yourself, then what makes it right to pin the blon an outsider?”
He emphasized the words “an outsider,” completely shattering Lindy’s attempts to defend herself.
Kellan’s expression remained unreadable. “Miss Johnson, Colton is your husband. Rather than trying to sway
public opinion, perhaps you should focus on how to cup with the ransom money to get him out.”
He had little patience to waste on these people; his attention was on savoring the the had with Allison.
“Miss Johnson, it’s so moving to see you pleading for your husband like this.” Allison glanced over slowly, her
voice low and unhurried. “Though if | recall, not so long ago, you were still tangled up with your ex-husband at
the wedding, weren't you?” She then turned to Lindy. “Oh, and as for you, Lindy, wasn’t there a colleague of
yours who seemed awfully close?”
Allison was referring to an incident at Keanu’s birthday banquet.
