My eyes scanned the email briefly until | found the room number.
My heart was still.
Room 906.
| was in the wrong room.
What terrible luck 1 had!
My face burned with embarrassment as my eyes narrowed at the room number. | was in Gavin Landry’s hotel
suite. Suddenly, it felt as if | was going to pass out from this extrhumiliation.
| could barely even look at him despite knowing he was staring down atwith a deep frown on his lips.
He thought | was here to stalk him... he had no idea that | was in the competition, and | wasn’t sure if | should
even bother telling him.
These last few weeks he couldn't care less aboutor what | did... so why would that change now?

“Well?” He asked. “Are you going to reply, or are you just going to stand there?”
I was at a loss for words.
| spent the entire night in Gavin's room, that meant Nan had been in our room all alone... all night.
Oh Goddess, she must have been so worried about me. Here | was thinking she was out all night, but in reality, it
waswho was out all night.
“I...” | started to say, my voice trailing off as thoughts continued to consme. “L.. | have to go,” | rushed out
as | turned and hurried out of the room.
| was only a few rooms down, but I didn’t want him followingor findinglater. So, | headed for the elevator
instead.
| wasn’t sure where | was going, but | knew | couldn’t stay there.
Gavin's POV
| couldn’t say | had no memory of last night; | got way too drunk and made schoices that | probably
shouldn't have been making while screwed up.
Waking up
this morning, it was still a shock to see Judy on the floor of my hotel suite. She was the last person | thought |
would see here.
Thated how my body reacted to the sight of her. Even as a disheveled and naked mess, she was still beautiful.
It wasn’t good that she was here; if Alpha Levi caught wind of my relationship with her, he would use her against
| searched for her in the halls, but she was long gone. There was no trace of her ever being here besides her
lingering scent. | could find her easily if | wanted to, but | decided not to bother. | was bound to run into Levi or
the paparazzi if | left right now.
| needed to keep a low profile until the competition started

1 grabbed my phone and brought up Taylor's contact.
“Yes, Alpha?” Taylor asked as soon as he answered the phone.
Based on his tone, he knew this was a business call and nota personal one.

“Did you know that Judy Montague was going to be here?” asked, my tone hard and filled with an underlying hint
of betrayal.
Had my own Beta known this fact and kept it from me?
For a second, he hesitated.
“No,” he finally replied. “I didn’t know she would be there. But Adam toldshe wouldn't be around for a bit.”
“Adam?” | asked, the image of my butler coming into mind “How the hell does Adam know anything?”
“He must have forgotten to mention it to you. Judy requested the next few weeks off.”
| felt a headache brewing in my temple from this talk. | needed him to get to the point and tellsomething
useful before I lost control of myself.
“Did she chere because she knew | was going to be here?” | asked through my teeth.
“Adam didn’t givea reason for her absence. | mean, it's school break so | assumed she was just taking some
toff for that. It’s not like Mathew needs a tutor during the break. It’s not like she’s needed right now, right?”
| clenched my fists. He was missing the point as usual.
Judy must have figured I'd be here, so she cto see me. She's playing it off like that wasn’t the case but
that’s the only explanation | have.
She was playing a dangerous game.
