Chapter 0277
Judy's POV
Gavin was shirtless with only a pair of sweatpants on. | stared at his incredible body, my mouth nearly watering
at the sight of his glistening abs, Glistening because he was coated in sweat, indicating that he'd been here for a
while working out. When my eyes gazed up at his form, | say that he had a towel wrapped around his shoulders,
collecting the sweat off the back of his neck. My eyes found his and | saw the confusion and slight glitter of rage
in his eyes.
“What
are you doing in here?” He asked, his tone low and deadly. | wasn’t afraid of him though; I'm not sure if anything
he did could maketruly fear him. But | was conscious that he was angry, and it was my presence that made
him this way. It hurt; | wasn’t going to lie.

“I... 1 was going to work out,” | told him, staring at the ground, unable to look him in the eyes. All the pain and
loneliness | faced these last few weeks of this man crushing through my body and | was suddenly feeling
smaller than | had in a long time.
What was wrong with me?
He looked atas if he didn’t believe me; he looked annoyed. He stared down at the bag on the ground and
pressed his lips in a thin line.
“Why isn’t that in a locker?” He asked. “It could get stolen”
“Uh...” | said, glancing over my shoulder at the locker room. “There are no lockers left.”
He scowled as he grabbed my bag off the floor and started towards the men’s locker room.
“W... what are you doing?” | asked him.
“Putting it in my locker,” he muttered and then he was gone.
He wasn’t gone for long though; | waited outside the locker room until he returned a few minutes later.
“There, now it won't get stolen,” he said, narrowing his eyes at me. “You shouldn't have chere.”
“I just wanted to get sworking out in,” | told him, gesturing for the workout equipment.
He studiedfor a moment longer and then he stepped back, allowingto walk around him.
| started to weave through the people, keeping my head down as | walked past a few known gammas. | walked
up the stairs and to the second floor where the treadmills and bikes were. | was glad to see there were quite a
few treadmills available. | chose one that overlooked sof the gym; | figured if | could see them, they could
seeand part of why | wanted to work out in the gym this morning was so | could be seen | wanted the
competition to seeand know that | wasn’t one to mess with.
| got on the treadmill and started off on a light jog.

| hadn't noticed the person who got on the other treadmill beside me; at least not until | heard it beeping to life
and the person besidestarted at a fast sprint. | looked over, my mouth dropping when | saw Gavin on the
treadmill.
Had he followed me?
] pressed my lips together, annoyed by the intrusion. Gavin glanced at me, his eyes dark and narrowed in a
silent challenge. | knew he wanted to compete with me, and | wasn’t going down without a fight.
| sped up the treadmill, matching his speed and then | went one speed high
so | was sprinting a little faster. It
had gone faster than before, so this was nothing. He would have to try harder than that if he wanted to sike me
out
A smirk played on his lips as we ran side by side and then | heard his treadmill beeping again, soon, he was
running even faster. | scowled at him, not wanting him to get the best of me, so | pressed an even higher speed
