Chapter 201 Nancy's face was serious as she spoke, "As long as he keeps away from Judson Buchanan, I won't spill the beans." The unspoken threat was clear: if Cyrus cafter Judson again, she wouldn't hold back.

Lenard nodded firmly, saying, "Exactly. We don't start trouble, but we sure as heck aren't afraid of it." He couldn't shake the haunting image of Judson, bloodied and falling down the stairs.

Clenching his fists, Lenard asked, "Nancy, was Cyrus always this nasty? Did he ever hurt you like this?" Nancy hesitated, her fingers pausing mid-air as a flashback of Hayley Grant lying in a pool of blood, with Cyrus' twisted face looming over, crossed her mind. The judgmental gazes of everyone else were all too vivid.

Seeing Nancy's silence, Lenard felt a chill of fear. "Nancy, why won't you answer me? Did Cyrus harm you too? No wonder you wanted a divorce, to escape from him." How dare that monster! While Lenard was fuming, Nancy remained calm. "It's all in the past. Cyrus and I are done for good." "He doesn't deserve you. He forgot all the love you gave him," Lenard said, his anger growing. "At least Judson's been there for you. Cyrus is just a jerk. If I see him again, I'll give him a piece of my mind." Nancy gently patted Lenard's shoulder, amused at how it seemed like he was the one wronged by Cyrus. The corridor grew quiet, and the tension lightened a bit. Lenard took a deep breath, trying to calm himself down. He didn't want his emotions to upset Nancy. After all, Nancy had been through the worst of it. "Nancy, you should stay here at the hospital with Judson for the next few days. We'll plan things with Potter in a week." Nancy didn't argue, "Alright, you and Potter go ahead and discuss things. Callif anything comes up." "Will do," Lenard agreed readily. Just as he was about to continue speaking, his phone rang.

He glanced at the caller ID and answered in a hushed tone, "Hello?" Whatever was said made Lenard frown, "Got it, we'll talk later." After hanging up, Nancy spoke up, "Lenard, if you have work to do back at the office, go ahead. I've got things covered here." Lenard instinctively wanted to refuse, but Nancy cut him off.

"Don't let this interfere with your work." Seeing her resolve, Lenard knew arguing was pointless. He nodded and headed out.

As soon as Lenard was out of sight, a loud crash cfrom the hospital room.

Nancy's expression changed as she hurriedly opened the door and rushed in. "Judson, are you alr-" The words died on her lips as she saw Judson sprawled on the floor. Her face fell as she marched over. "Who told you to get out of bed?" Judson looked up at her with red-rimmed eyes, "Nancy, my head hurts, and I feel like I might puke." "I'll call the doctor," Nancy said, assisting Judson back onto the bed. As she was about to step away, he grabbed her waist with surprising strength and pulled her close. Judson buried his head against her stomach, nuzzling like a wounded puppy.

"Please, Nancy, don't go. Just hold me.

Nancy froze, feeling his warmth. She wanted to push him away but hesitated, considering his injuries. "Judson, you're doing this on purpose," she said, trying to sound stern.

Judson looked up innocently, "Doing what on purpose?"

Nancy narrowed her eyes dangerously, "Do I need to spell it out?" Her voice was cold, tinged with anger.

Nancy was mad!

Judson defended himself, "Cyrus catfirst. He doctoredam e photo of your marriage certificate and said you'd never choose me, and that I should just back off." "I couldn't take it and fought back."

Nancy's face was calm, "So you m ended up falling down the stairs, claiming he pushed you."
