Chapter 21 When staring down the aggressive paparazzi, Nancy's face turned sour, her lips pressed into a thin line. Cyrus strutted off with Hayley in tow, leaving Nancy surrounded and bombarded with questions. That was revolting! Caleb was about to dive into the fray when a calm voice cut through the chaos.
"You couldn't get a scoop on Cyrus and Hayley, so you turned to Ms. Gonzalez? You're picking on the easy target, are you?" Not just Caleb but Nancy turned to see who had cto her defense, spotting Baldrick standing at the back of the crowd.
The paparazzi were momentarily stunned, taking a few seconds to regroup.
"Baldrick from the Robertson Group! When did Mr. Robertson get back to town?" Baldrick's reputation was on par with Cyrus' in the elite circles. Both were considered young moguls with decisive and efficient approaches. Arguably, they were the most prominent young figures in their circle. A clearly annoyed paparazzo, nursing a damaged camera, complained, "Mr. Robertson, is it wrong for us to interview Mrs. Gordon? Mr. Gordon has wrecked my camera.

Paparazzo argued, "But Mr. Gordon and Mrs. Gordon are married. Shouldn't Mrs. Gordon compensate me?" Baldrick's sharp gaze swept over Caleb. "Did you hear what our friend here said? Mr. Gordon broke his bread and butter. It shouldn't be too hard to replace it, right?" Caleb immediately responded, "Of course, but hounding Mr. Gordon and Mrs. Gordon without an appointment and slandering them-The Gordon Group will sue!" The paparazzi's faces fell, taking Caleb's threat seriously.
And with Baldrick's barely suppressed smirk, it was clear he was not one to be trifled with.
An awkward silence fell over the crowd again.
Baldrick made his way to Nancy, pushing past the people before her. The crowd parted, wary of the imposing figure approaching.
Before anyone could speak, they met Baldrick's chilling gaze, his presence enough to make one shiver. Baldrick said, "Nancy, let's go." Nancy looked into Baldrick's gentle eyes, spotting a faint smile on his lips.
She nodded, albeit with mixed feelings. "Okay." It was somewhat amusing, in a sad way. Her husband had left her behind for his mistress, yet a stranger had cto her rescue.
Love and indifference were as clear as day and night.
As Nancy and Baldrick were about to leave, the paparazzi panicked, throwing caution to the wind, "Mr. Robertson, why did Mr. Gordon leave with Hayley but not Mrs. Gordon? And why are you picking up Mrs. Gordon?" "Mrs. Gordon, could you please respond? What is the relationship between Mr. Gordon and Hayley? As Mr. Gordon's wife, is the question this hard to answer?" Baldrick's eyes narrowed dangerously, ready to cut them off.
Nancy said calmly, "The relationship between Cyrus and Hayley is something you should ask them!" She turned to Caleb, lifting her chin slightly. "Caleb, tell Cyrus to hold a press conference in the next few days to explain his relationship with Hayley properly." "If his explanation is unsatisfactory, I will divorce him!" Her firm and resolute statement left no room for doubt. It wasn't a joke. Even Caleb and the paparazzi were stunned, only to see Nancy had walked away.

Swanted to speak up, but Baldrick interjected, "Instead of m harassing Ms. Gonzalez, I think you'll find the upcoming press conference with Cyrus far more interesting." "Unless you'd prefer to spend a few days tasting the local jail's coffee for harassment!"
The threat paled the paparazzi, knowing they were outside the police station and making further trouble would only harm them. Baldrick watched them disperse with a scoff, then hurried after Nancy.
Left behind, Caleb contemplated Nancy's words, his expression complex as he dialed number.- Cyrus had arranged for a renowned obstetrician to examine Hayley in the hospital. There was a slight risk of miscarriage.
The hospital director assured him, "Mr. Gordon, rest assured. If Ms.
Grant shows no furthercomplications in the next few days, she should be able to go hfor bed rest.
