Chapter 25 The Gordon family had a tradition of gathering for a meal once a month. Cyrus felt annoyed, having forgotten about this occasion.
Nancy glanced at Cyrus, her heart tinged with disdain and a cold detachment.
His mind was elsewhere. No wonder he forgot.

"Okay, dear. Be careful on your way back," Wilma's loving voice sounded as she hung up the phone. Cyrus quickly grabbed the car keys, clearing his throat, "Nancy, let's head back for dinner." Nancy nodded slightly, stepping outside.
Cyrus watched as Nancy walked away, pursing his lips. Well, he had tried to make amends. If she was willing to listen, great. If not, so be it. After all, he had never gone to such lengths for Hayley.
The drive back to Gordon Mansion was silent, with Nancy closing her eyes, refusing to communicate.
The Gordon Mansion, nestled on a hillside, offered breathtaking views. The sprawling estate covered thousands of square meters.
Cyrus took Nancy's hand as they walked in. Nancy wanted to pull away but restrained herself, fearing what Wilma might think of their strained relationship. It was best not to stir up trouble before leaving. It would only make their departure more difficult.
As soon as they entered the living room, Wilma, seated on the sofa, immediately smiled and waved, "Nancy, chere." Nancy quickly withdrew her hand, walking over to her mother-in-law.
Wilma affectionately held Nancy's hand, examining her closely. "You've lost weight! Didn't I tell you not to diet? You never listen." Nancy smiled. "I haven't been dieting. I had a bit of a fever a few days ago." "Yes, you were feverish a few days ago," Wilma's face darkened as she turned to Cyrus, "Cyrus, what's this about? Is this how you take care of my daughter-in-law?" Cyrus quickly responded, "Mom, I didn't want Nancy to be sick. I was beside myself with worry and stayed by her side at the hospital for two days and nights, right, Nancy?" Nancy's eyes held a subtle mocking. "Yes, he stayed withfor two days and nights." And then he was off, doting on Hayley, even setting off fireworks across the city for her, getting into fights for her. He was indeed a devoted man with a heart divided in two.

Holt Gordon's aged voice sounded, "Nancy and Cyrus are back? Let's start dinner then. Nancy seems to have lost weight." Wilma stood up, holding Nancy's hand, looking at Holt descending the stairs. "She has lost weight. Cyrus hasn't been taking good care of Nancy." "What?" Holt feigned a move with his cane. "Cyrus, you rascal, looking for a beating, are you? I warn you. If Nancy's health suffers, it'll be trouble having kids later!" Cyrus feigned fear. "Got it, Grandpa. I'll ensure Nancy is well taken care of. We'll have a big, healthy great- grandchild for you soon." Turning to Nancy with a grin, Cyrus asked, "Right, Nancy?" Facing the family's collective gaze, Nancy nodded lightly, "Yes, aiming for a big, healthy great-grandchild within a year." But it wouldn't be her bearing the child, but Hayley.
Cyrus' eyes sparkled with unmistakable joy upon realizing m Nancy was planning to have his child, willing to be intimate with him! Holt's smile was wide. "Good, good. That givessomething to look forward to. Let's eat." As they settled at the dining table, Cyrus asked, "Mom, when's Dad coming back?"
"Should be soon. Last night, your dad bragged about catching a huge fish on his sea fishing trip. That trip made ΕΠ him happy."
Wilma couldn't help but tease, yet her eyes showed nothing but love, "ket's not talk about that. Nancy, try the soup. See how you like the soup I made." Nancy took a sip and genuinely complimented, "It's delicious!" "Good. I'll make it for you again," Wilma said, patting Nancy's hand. "We'll fatten you up a bit."
