Chapter 26 Nancy nodded, waiting to finish dinner before Wilma took her hand for a heart-to-heart. Only then did Nancy stand up and head back to her bedroom to sleep.

Cyrus watched everything unfold, quickly gulping down his cup of coffee, about to follow her.

But Wilma suddenly spoke up, "Cyrus, sit down. We need to talk about the business." Cyrus stopped mid-step. Since his parents stepped back from the company, he had kept his distance from business matters.

Seeing Wilma's serious expression, Cyrus sat down, puzzled. "Mom, what's going on?" Wilma didn't answer immediately. Instead, she waited until Nancy was out of earshot, her smile fading. She then turned a chilly gaze toward Cyrus. "What's the deal with you and Hayley?" Cyrus was shocked, then slightly annoyed. "Mom, are you spying on me?" "Jack Weaver's wife called me. If Mrs. Weaver hadn't told me, I wouldn't have known you got into a fight over Hayley and even got arrested." Wilma's brows knitted tightly as she added, "I wouldn't have known about the fireworks you set off across town for Hayley, the car, the villa... Have you fallen for Hayley?" "Of course, no. Hayley's just a fling!" Cyrus retorted, frowning.

Wilma pursed her lips, watching Cyrus, not quite believing he was lying.

Cyrus was getting impatient. "Mom, drop it. Hayley and I are just messing around. Nancy is the one I'll spend my life with." "What if Nancy finds out?" Wilma's face fell, "You know how she is. She won't forgive you again." "Mom!" Cyrus' tone suddenly rose, his heart racing with an indefinable panic.

"As long as you don't tell Nancy, no one else will know. I'm going to bed. Just leave my stuff alone." With that, Cyrus stormed off, clearly angry.

At that moment, standing in a corner on the second floor, Nancy watched Cyrus pass by, then turned away swiftly.

Her heart couldn't quite nthe feeling, but she had guessed Cyrus would react this way.

Break it off with Hayley? Impossible! With Cyrus' personality, if he didn't have feelings for Hayley, why would he get involved with her to the extent of having her expect a child? After Cyrus left, Wilma sat on the couch and sighed deeply, a shadow of concern in her eyes.

The butler approached, standing respectfully before Wilma.
