Chapter 35 Hayley's face tightened, and the next second, she caught the sharp glance Cyrus threw her way. "Am I wrong? You're not seriously thinking this baby will makemarry you, right?" Cyrus' voice was tinged with frost by the end.

Hayley immediately tensed up. "No, that's not what I meant. Mr. Gordon, I haven't forgotten our agreement.' Cyrus had made it clear. He'd make her a star in Hollywood if she had a child with him.

"Good to know." Cyrus gently placed Hayley on the sofa and stood up.

"You've twisted your ankle. Rest for now, and you can make a big comeback after the baby's born." His tone was commanding, leaving no room for doubt.

If it weren't for Nancy refusing his touch, he wouldn't have to resort to having a child with another woman. As Cyrus turned to leave, Hayley grabbed his hand and looked at him pitifully. "Cyrus, are you leaving? It's rare for you to visit, and I've missed you..." She let her robe fall open to reveal her outfit underneath. Cyrus' gaze darkened, his Adam's apple bobbing slightly.

Hayley recognized that look immediately it was like a snake wrapping around its prey. She wrapped her arms tightly around Cyrus' neck, her breath sweet like orchids, and cooed, "Con, Cyrus." Though there was a hint of ambiguity in Cyrus' eyes, he still retained ssense of reason.

"Just letsend Nancy a text..." he said, pulling out his phone, only to find it was off. After hurriedly powering it on, Hayley's dissatisfaction was palpable, though she dared not voice it.

But then, Hayley saw Cyrus' face cloud over, his expression twisting darkly.

Cyrus was furious! Glancing at the phone screen, Hayley saw a photo of Baldrick with his arms around Nancy. What was worse... "Cyrus, why is Nancy wearing a man's jacket? That's not hers, is it?" Mentioning that was the last straw. Cyrus hurled the phone to the ground and stormed out, looking every bit the husband who had caught his wife in an affair.

Hayley couldn't help but feel a surge of joy watching Cyrus leave in a huff. She looked down at the shattered phone and smirked thoughtfully.

Baldrick and Nancy sat in the car outside the villa, both silent.

Nancy lowered her eyes and said, "Mr. Robertson, thanks for helpingtoday. I owe you one again." That made two favors.

Baldrick chuckled softly, "How about you be my date for a dinner party tomorrow night? Consider it settling those favors." Usually, Nancy would refuse, but thinking of Baldrick's assistance, she nodded, "Okay." "Great. I'll pick you up from Velvet Bean Coffee House at seven?" "See you at seven then," Nancy said, stepping out of the car.

As she watched the car drive away, Nancy turned and walked into the villa, only to find Cyrus sitting on the sofa, his expression blank.

"Nancy, finally decided to stop gallivanting outside? I& Baldrick that much better than me?" A surge of anger shot through Nancy, "Yes, he is." At least Baldrick hadn't abandoned her.

That struck a nerve with Cyrus.

With a swift kick, he overturned the the vase on coffee table, shates top and scattering pieces everywhere, scutting into Nancy's legs. But Nancy seemed unfazed, looking at Cyrus with disdain and disgust.

Seeing that look in Nancy's eyes, especially with her still wearing m Baldrick's jacket Cyrus lost all semblance of control and strode to her with stormy steps.
