Chapter 54 Nancy froze, puzzled. Gazing into Judson's worried and panicked eyes, the anger simmering within her gradually subsided.
"No needles, no hospital trip. I'll pop a pill," Nancy said, pulling her hand away and reaching into the drawer for a capsule, about to grab a glass of water.
Judson immediately grabbed her hand. "This water's too cold. Letget you swarm water from the kitchen." With those words, he dashed into the kitchen and returned within seconds, holding a glass, his face etched with concern.

Nancy wasn't used to this kind of attention. Quickly, she downed her water and swallowed the medicine, giving a small cough to show Judson she'd taken it, all while noticing the worry still etched on his face. "Medicine's down. Now, let's get you to the police station," she said, trying to lighten the mood.
"No way! You're sick. I can't leave you." Judson took Nancy's hand, sitting beside her and holding her close.
"Nancy, you may not want to admit you're my wife, but in my heart, you're family. I'll go to the police station, but only if you're okay!" Nancy couldn't help but laugh at his earnestness. As she was about to respond, her phone rang. Frowning, she picked up. "Winnie?" Winnie's frantic voice broke in. "Lena, we've got a problem! Sthugs are wrecking the place!" After her words, panicked screams from other staff members sounded over the phone.
Nancy's expression darkened instantly. "I'm on my way." After hanging up, she reached for her car keys, ready to dash out.
But Judson was one step ahead, holding the keys. "Babe, you're in no condition to drive. I'll take you!" Too urgent to argue, Nancy nodded grimly. "Then hurry." Thirty minutes later, Nancy charged into the studio, out of breath and frantic. Just then, a mocking voice sliced through the air. "Lena, so you're the one trying to steal my man? You really have snerve!" Nancy jerked her head up only to see a slap toward her face.
Smack! It was too fast for her to dodge, a sharp pain spreading across her cheek, snapping her fully to attention. Facing the brown-haired, doll-faced girl, Nancy surveyed the trashed surroundings, noting the absence of anyone else.
Her eyes turned icy as she faced the girl. "Who are you?" Hearing Nancy, Ann laughed mockingly. "You don't deserve to know who I am. Lena, you seduced my man with that face, didn't you?" With a snap of her fingers, two burly men in black emerged from a corner.

When seeing them ccloser, Nancy's expression turned grim. "I've called the police on my way here. You'd better stop now, or-" Ann burst into laughter before Nancy could finish, and even the closest man scoffed, "So what? By the tthey get here, we'll have had our fun with you!" He reached for Nancy's arm. "Pretty lady, you're not going anywhere!"
As the man's hand approached, Nancy's eyes darkened further, her fingers reaching for her waist.
But before she could act, a swift figure burst in. Thud! A punch, fierce and fast, landed squarely on the man, sending him flying back.
Nancy looked up to see Judson standing protectively in front of her. "Judson..."
Hadn't she told him to wait downstairs? Especially since Judson wasn't familiar with these situations and was still recovering from a head injury.
"Did they hurt you?" Judson asked gently, looking her over carefully until he spotted the clear slap mark on Nancy's right cheek. A surge of anger welled up inside him as he gently touched Nancy's swollen cheek, his eyes reddening with pain. "Does it hurt?"
