Chapter 57 Nancy couldn't tell how long she had slept, but it was dark outside when she finally opened her eyes again. Feeling utterly drained and sore, Nancy realized she was much more alert.
"Babe, you're awake!" A voice filled with surprise and unmistakable joy reached her.
As Nancy lifted her head, she caught sight of Judson, looking dashingly handsin his disheveled state, rushing toward her. His eyes, filled with concern, made her heart skip a beat just as she opened her mouth to speak.

Once again wrapped in Judson's arms, his familiar scent enveloping her, her heart raced uncontrollably. Nancy squirmed uncomfortably. "Letgo first." "I'm not letting you go!" Judson's voice held a touch of childish sulkiness, his deep, bright eyes fixated on Nancy, slightly reddened at the edges.
"You've been out cold for seven hours. I had to feed you cold medicine three times, scared I'd have to rush you to the hospital! Thankfully, your fever broke." Seeing the undisguised worry in Judson's eyes, Nancy felt a strange warmth, touched by his concern. However, spotting the empty water glass and the cold medicine capsule on the table, Nancy had a bad feeling. "How did you givethe medicine while I was out?" She wondered if it was mouth-to-mouth.
As expected, Judson confidently declared, "Of course, I had to do it mouth to mouth. You were sleeping so deeply. Nothing would wake you up. Babe, you scared the hell out of me!" Nancy was utterly flabbergasted, managing a strained chuckle. "Wait, what?" That was nonsense! Feeling her fists clench, yet seeing Judson's anger and vulnerability as if she had wronged him greatly, Nancy was momentarily speechless.
Then, something caught her eye. The office was spotless, showing no chaos, and Judson's clothes bore faint stains.
Nancy bit her lip, feeling a flood of complex emotions. "Did you clean up everything here?" Judson's pride swelled as he lifted his chin, his eyes searching for her approval. "I cleaned it all up without waking you!" Nancy's gaze flickered, unsure of what to say next. After all, Judson didn't need to go to such lengths. They weren't husband and wife. And Judson didn't need to worry about her this much.
After seeing Nancy silent, Judson's smile froze, and he asked cautiously, "Nancy, do you not wantdoing these things? Or do you not wantto take care of you..." "It's not that I don't want it. It's just unnecessary," Nancy blurted.
Judson immediately took Nancy's hand, his tall frenveloping her, casting a shadow over her.
"How can you say it's unnecessary?" Judson looked down at the petite woman in his arms, his eyes reflecting a pang of hurt.

Judson gently caressed Nancy's right cheek, where a faint bruise was almost invisible, yet it pained him deeply. Looking into Judson's wounded expression, Nancy was momentarily stunned before firmly grabbing his hand and saying. "Because we are not husband and wife, I'm not your wife. Judson, we've only known each other for a few days. You have amnesia, but I remember everything!" Judson fell silent, visibly upset. "I don't believe it. I may have lost my memory, but not my senses. Why would I not call anyone else my wife but you?" Nancy was stumped. "How should I know? Maybe because you sawfirst when you chome."
It was probably what the doctor m called 'imprinting. Judson had somehow rewritten his memory.
Upon hearing that, Judson felt even more aggrieved. "Nancy, you're a liar! You keep saying we don't know each other. But why are you living in my house? You are my wife." Nancy's eyes widened, shocked by Judson's accusation.
"You ended up at my place because you -" She got cut off by a steady knocking at the door.
