Chapter 354
Unfortunately, just as she was trying to get closer, the person behind her quickly pulled out a gun, effectively
stopping her midway towards Raiden.
D*rn it! They were ready for anything; she was just a bit too slow.
Milly bit her lip, eyeing the goons starting to surround her, quickly trying to figure out what to do next.
She basically had two choices. Either give up and deal with even more eyes on her now that they knew what she
was capable of, making any escape later a no-go. Or, she could leap and try to flip the situation in her favour.
Feeling like there wasn’t much she had to lose, she hoped they'd hesitate to hurt her. Staying alive meant there
was still a chance. Maybe she could pull this off.
Seeing capture as the only option, she shot in the dark.
Milly wasn’t the type to wonder if she made the right call.
In a quick move, before anyone could touch her, she gave a sharp kick to the closest guy, sending him flying.
That move really got everyone heated.
“She just kicked me!”
“Let's get her, everyone!”
“Can you believe she'd attack us? She’s got a death wish!”
Watching them put away their guns and cat her with fists ready, Milly couldnt help but smirk.
Alright, it looks like | played my cards!
They're holding back on using guns - they don’t want to hurtfor sreason!

As she geared up for a severe showdown, an unexpected, urgent shout cut through the silence, making even the
toughest guys halt in their tracks:
“Hold up! Stop! Don’t move! Don’t move!”
This command caught everyone off guard. The tough-looking guys about to go in suddenly stopped in their
tracks, pulling down their sleeves but not daring to take another step. They looked puzzled at Nimbus, clearly
confused by his sudden outburst.
They might have gotten it if it had been Raiden yelling, considering he’s known for being short-fused. But seeing
the usually calm and collected Mr. Nimbus lose his cool like that? Totally bewildering!
Not even fazed by the sudden stop, Milly took her chance. Squinting, she moved, knocking down a goon who had
snagged her arm with a swift kick. A cloud of dust went up with a heavy thud.
“You!” Enraged, the man got up, ready to hit back. But then Nimbus’s booming voice cut through once more,
“Stop! No one lays a hand on her! No hitting back!”
The man, a bit hesitant, pulled back his hand.
Milly, eyebrow raised, looked on, puzzled by the sudden shift in the man’s attitude.
Nimbus then chucked his gun away, walked over to Milly, and, shocking everyone, got down on his knees in front
of her.
“Mr. Nimbus!” the crowd gasped.
“What in the world? Nimbus, have you lost your mind? Why on earth are you kneeling to her?!” Raiden, finally
snapping out of it and totally baffled by the scene, was about to jump out of his skin.
Ignoring him, Nimbus turned to his bewildered team. “Put away your guns and get down on your knees!”
“Why should we... “
They looked puzzled and hesitated, which made Nimbus lose his patience, “Seriously? You're not going to listen
to me?”
His anger made them quickly kneel down, except for Raiden, who stood there bold as brass, locking eyes with
him.
“Nimbus, have you lost your mind? I've heard about hostages kneeling, but never the
kidnappers doing it to the hostages. That's a new one.”
Nimbus shot him a look and raised his voice, “So, you're really not going to kneel, huh?”
Raiden let out a snort, quickly loaded his gun with bullets, pulled back the hammer, and aimed it straight at Milly.
Squinting his eyes, he said, “Why would | bow down to someone I can take out with just one bullet?”
Shaking his head, Nimbus murmured, “You're such an arrogant guy, do whatever you want.”
But then, without delay, he went down on one knee, giving a salute between serious and casual, the kind Ghost
Sect members use when they're in front of their leader. “I'm Nimbus from the Ghost Sect, showing my respect to
the sect leader!”
The moment those words hit the air, the room went wild. You could see a bunch of followers gawking at Milly,
eyes wide with a mix of fear and shock, whispering to each other, “Gotta pay respects... to the sect leader ...
What was going on here?
Could this even be for real?
Was the person standing before them actually the new sect leader they had been on the lookout for?
How did they end up kidnapping the sect leader of Halturia, of all people, as their first catch?
And hang on a minute, what were the consequences for kidnapping, threatening, or roughing up the sect leader
again?

Milly was honestly taken aback. She had braced herself for all kinds of challenging situations - being caught,
roughed up, or even being put in a position where she’d have to deal with seriously embarrassing terms. Maybe
she’d make it out with her life intact ...
But this? She totally didn’t see this coming.
With a nervous lip bite, Milly stared at him, disbelief etched all over her face, “What did you just say to me?”
Nimbus returned her gaze, his eyes filled with genuine respect and seriousness. “Sect leader, you're the new
leader of our Ghost Sect!”
“Sect leader?” The words seemed to hang in Milly's mind as she tried to process them.
Since when did gangs casually throw around leadership roles like this?
This whole thing threw her for a loop. She remembered the Ghost Sect was leaderless, so what's with the sudden
promotion out of nowhere?
Suddenly, Raiden, standing right behind her, couldn't hold back his shock. “What? She's the one in charge? No
way! And when do you get to decide that?” he blurted out.
Milly wasn’t far behind, eyeing him with disbelief and anticipation, eager to hear what cnext.
Looking a bit let down by the question, Nimbus responded confidently, “You know, it’s always been a thing-that
the sect leader's wrist is graced with the unique Ghost Sect bracelet. It’s not just any bracelet; it has a mind of
its own, knowing exactly who it belongs to. Just have a look at her wrist.”
Raiden was almost convinced, but his scepticism hung on, needing to see it to believe. His eyes locked onto
Milly's wrist...
And there it was, the silver-brown bracelet making a bold statement on her light skin!
Even if you turned that bracelet into dust, you'd still know it by heart!
“Really?”
