Chapter 355
When Raiden got a good look at the bracelet, he visibly paled, his face freezing in shock. For a brief moment,
there was total silence. Then, unexpectedly, the man who had seemed so brave up until now suddenly dropped
to his knees, his voice booming.
“Raiden of the Ghost Sect bows down before the Sect Leader! The one who leads our world with unparalleled
strength!”
Milly just stared, speechless.
Wow, that was super cringe!
It felt like something out of a teenage fantasy, eerily similar to the chants used when the six major sects
surrounded Bright Summit. It was almost laughable, like something out of a child's play.
But the real question was, how could they be so sure that a single bracelet was enough to identify her as the
Sect Leader?
Andrew gave her this bracelet, which used to belong to Rosa before she passed away. But how on earth is it
connected to the leader of their Ghost Sect?
At first glance, the bracelet seems plain, with just shard-to-make-out patterns or sfancy writing. It has
something special about it when you look closer, but they only had a quick peek. All they noticed was its silvery-
brown colour, which is typical for these kinds of bracelets.
So, could they have gotten the bracelet wrong?
But then again, if the Sect Leader himself can mess up, what does that say about the Ghost Sect being the top
secret organisation in the world? Pretty embarrassing.
Still, with everyone kneeling down and bowing in respect, Milly knew better than to clear things up.
She can temporarily take on the role if they expect her to becthe Sect Leader!

Milly quietly slipped the bracelet that had dropped back into her shirt cuff, worried someone might notice. Then,
she strolled over to the main sofa and sat down, casually leaning back and observing everyone around her.
“So, our Ghost Sect’s rule is to just kidnap and smack the Sect Leader around, is that it?”
As soon as that was said, everyone got a case of the shivers.
Nimbus was still on his knees, didn’t budge, and then looked up after she spoke, “Sect Leader, this one’s on me.
| misjudged the situation. | thought you were in cahoots with Shadow Palace. I'm ready for whatever punishment
you think fits.”
“Wait, that’s not right!” exclaimed Monkey, finally getting the gun out of his mouth and scampering over. “It's
not like that at all. It has nothing to do with Mr. Nimbus. This was my bad. | misjudged the situation and thought
there was something special between Master of Shadow Palace and you, Sect Leader. That's on me, and I'm
ready to face whatever the sect rules throw my way.”
With that, he gave Milly three knocks on the ground with his head, going ‘bang, bang, bang.’
Milly kicked back, legs thrown over the table in front of her, holding her head up with one hand, all while
chuckling. “So, this is the life of a Sect Leader, huh? You know what, it's not half bad.
“About that punishment. Let's just drop it. After all, I'm just a simple woman who'd rather not see any gore,”
Milly said with a nonchalant flick of her fingers, her voice leisurely.
Monkey breathed a sigh of relief and bowed deeply, “Thank you, Sect Leader!”
But then Milly's tone took a sharp turn, “Though, while we can overlook the death penalty, escaping the
consequences of one’s actions isn’t so simple. What do our sect rules say? | wanna hear it.”
The room went dead quiet.
Milly was chilling, waiting for someone to break the silence.
Finally, Nimbus took the lead, “So, the sect’s rules are pretty intense. Cross the bosses, and it’s gover for
you, no second chances!”
Milly couldn’t hide her shock.
Seriously? That escalated quickly.
She thought she was making a light comment.
Is this group for real? They're in the 21st century, right? Talking about offending people so casually. Could they
be shardcore gang from the Bright Summit times?
Raiden was caught off guard by Nimbus actually quoting the rules, and worry seeped in, “Nimbus! You ... “
But Nimbus just looked at him, deadpan, as if to say, “Planning to keep playing games with the sect leader?”
Raiden visibly deflated, proving he wasn’t about to push his luck.
In the middle of their back-and-forth, Milly decided it was tto step in, clearing her throat for effect, “Ahem,
just to cback to something | mentioned before, while death isn’t something you can’t get over, messing up
in life sticks with you. So, I'm letting you off the hook. Our Ghost Sect could use sextra hands right now, and
shaking things up too much at this point wouldn't really do us any favours.”
She was winging it and needed the full scoop on the Ghost Sect’s situation.
But it's not like she had a choice; it was this or bloodier alternatives. She wasn’t in the mood for violence, and if
they figured out she wasn't their leader, that would open a whole can of worms, especially for the Burnetts.
And honestly, stirring up for the Burnetts was the last thing she wanted-it just wasn’t worth the hassle.
Raiden’s eyes shone as she looked at Milly like she saw sreborn sage. “You really got it all figured out, huh?
Countin. Raiden’s got your back through thick and thin!”
Milly didn’t say anything at first.
Calling him Raiden feels way more personal than sticking to just Mr. Raiden.
“Raiden, you've got potential,” Milly said after a bit, looking like she was mulling something over. Then she
decided, “Alright, Raiden’s made his stance clear, so everyone, stand up. We're doing things a bit differently,
though. Empty your guns, store them in the warehouse, and no one’s walking around armed!”
“Got it.”

Her commands had a specific authority to them. Even though it wasn’t clear why she was asking for these
particular actions, everyone followed the sect Leader.
Watching as they dutifully put away the guns in the nearby storage, Milly nonchalantly grabbed a gun, checked it
was loaded, and locked it up tight, holding onto all three keys herself.
Okay, everything's locked up tight!
Then she added, “Okay, for your next job, open the storage door and don't lock it. No one needs to keep watch,
and anyone can walk in!”
“Got it.”
Milly seemed pleased, watching the door swing open. This way, if Leon showed up later, he could walk in with no
problem!
Milly was getting ready in case she had to make a quick getaway or someone cto rescue her. She found
herself sitting on the couch, spinning a handgun in her hand
without even thinking about it while staring off into the sky. Dawn was still a bit away.
The Ghost Sect guys were all off to the side, keeping it quiet and looking deep in thought.
Handling most of them was okay; their thoughts weren't messing with her plan, but Nimbus differed.
He had a sharp mind and didn’t miss much!
She knew she couldn't let him think too hard about things. If he started piecing stuff together later, like noticing
the bracelet she wore wasn’t their leader's, it would ruin everything!
Even though she had them give up their guns, she kept one. It was a critical move. But facing off against many
of them alone wasn’t a winning strategy.
So, the plan was to keep them busy. If they were all caught up with tasks, they wouldn't have a chance to start
putting two and two together.
